how do you go about getting birth control if your parents have health insurance but you’re not sure how to ask them for it?
Good for you for involving your parents and thinking ahead about birth control! Talking with your parents about these topics may seem a little scary, but parents often end up being relieved that you started the conversation. Parents are usually happy that you trust them enough to ask them personal and important questions about sex and birth control.
We have lots of tips to help you get started. You can also check out our Awkward or Not? app to see how ready you and your parents are for “The Talk,” and get some great advice on how to make the conversation go smoothly.
And remember, anyone can buy condoms (which prevent pregnancy and STDs) at drug and grocery stores, or get them from community health clinics and Planned Parenthood health centers.
