If I had unprotected sex and had my period a week later, does that mean I’m not pregnant?
Yes. Getting your period means you didn’t get pregnant from that act of unprotected sex. In the future, use an effective form of birth control — and a condom, too — whenever you have intercourse to greatly reduce the risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
I had unprotected sex for a few seconds, no ejaculation or pre cum, I got my period a week later right on time. Its lighter than usual, could I be pregnant?
Hi Sarah,
Getting your period is a sign that you’re not pregnant. In the future, it’s a good idea to keep in mind that it’s really hard for either partner to tell (or control) when and if pre-cum has been released.

my girlfriend and i had unprotected sex. it wasn’t long and there was no ejaculation. this was our first time unprotected, we usually use a condom but we couldn’t get to one at that moment. do you think the possibilities of her getting pregnant are high?
Hi Jonathan,
Pregnancy can only occur if sperm enters the vagina. Pre-ejaculate (or pre-cum), which is released before ejaculation, can contain sperm. So it is possible to get pregnant even if you pull out before ejaculation.

if i took plan b 23 hours after having 30 seconds of unprotected sex is there a high chance im pregnant?
Hi Helen,
Taking emergency contraception 23 hours after unprotected sex greatly reduced your chance of pregnancy, but we can’t tell you for sure whether or not you’re pregnant. If your next period is late, you should take a pregnancy test.

I had “dry sex”: with underwear on. Is there a possibility that I am pregnant? Could sperm leak through his underwear and through to my underwear? I got my period, normal( light at first, then heavy then coming to a stop) for 4 days: which is normal for me, but I am still a bit nervous. Should I take a pregnancy test?
Hi Shay,
Getting your period is a sign that you’re not pregnant. If you’re nervous about pregnancy, you can always take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease.

I just had unprotected sex, twice in one hour yesterday. He pulled-out before he was even close to ejaculating the first time, but he did ejaculate elsewhere and an hour later or so, we had sex again. Im not on BC and we didnt use any condoms, He pulled out way ahead of time but im very worried about pre-cum and the fact that he ejacualted, and an hour later we did it again. Is it possible there is still sperm left over? What are the chances of getting pregnant?? And what can i do? My period is ALWAYS irregular, and im 15 so i have no way to get to a plannedparenthood or a doctors for planB, telling my parents is not an option!! Im so scared, please provide me with answers!
Hi Jessica,
The chance of getting pregnant from pre-cum is really small, but there’s no way of knowing for sure whether or not your partner’s pre-cum contained sperm from a previous ejaculation.
In order to confirm whether or not you’re pregnant, you can take a home pregnancy test–they’re sold at most drug stores and grocery stores. Pregnancy tests are most effective when taken after a missed period. In the future, it’s always a good idea to use a condom.

If I had protected sex but I wasn’t on birth control and I also have sex for the first time during my period and the next day I have black period blood am I preggo?
Hi Ally,
Menstrual blood can look a little different at different times in your cycle. Very dark colored blood can be totally normal, and is not a sign of pregnancy. If you’re still worried about pregnancy, you can always take a pregnancy test to be sure. It’s normal for your menstrual cycle to look a little different month to month. But if you’re concerned about the amount you’re bleeding, or about any other part of your period, you should contact a health care provider right away.

I had unprotected sex on the 5th..my partner used the “pull out” method..I got my period on the 8th..I’m concerned about pregnancy because I have a 5 month old and am not looking forward to getting pregnant anytime soon..is there I chance that I may be pregnant because I’ve been having weird feelings in my stomach.
Hi Kiara,
Getting your period is a sign you’re not pregnant. In the future, it’s a good idea to use a birth control method, like condoms, if you’re not ready to be pregnant.
