When you lose your virginity or have sex in general does that delay your period?
The only way that sex can delay your period is if you get pregnant. This is because when you’re pregnant, you don’t get a period.
Changes in your period from month to month are normal. Some months you may have no period, especially during the first year or two. Your health can also make a difference. Too much exercise or very strict dieting, for example, can use up all your body fat. You might not have periods if that happens. Stress can make a difference, too.
If you’re having vaginal intercourse, and you don’t want to get pregnant, it’s a good idea to use birth control. A staff member at your local Planned Parenthood health center can discuss all of your birth control options with you and help you get the birth control you need.
